Nobel Prize in Physics

The Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded 106 times to 194 Nobel Laureates between 1901 and 2012. John Bardeen is the only Nobel Laureate who has been awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics twice, in 1956 and 1972. American physicist David Wineland and French physicist Serge Haroche (both in pic) won the prize in 2012.The Nobel Prize in Physics is awarded once a year by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. It is one of the five Nobel prizes established by Alfred Nobel’s will. The awards are given away in Stockholm in Sweden every year.
